Reliable Collective Decisions

We consider how one might employ the unique properties of federated wiki to make binding decisions in our collective best interest.

We have a model of collaboration where individuals are free to choose from others without others choosing for them. One can pull but not push.

We need effective ways of making collectively binding, long-term decisions that take into account the interests of all those affected, including future generations. page

How might we layer upon this additional machinery of governance? We require good decisions made in a timely way and with sufficient representation that they are accepted by the whole.

We have no means of coercion except those outside of wiki such as peer pressure or a police force.
